Elementary Programme Grades 1 to 6 - 6 to 12 years of age

The elementary programmes consist of two 3 year cycles: 6 to 9 years of age and 9 to 12 years of age. In a Montessori elementary classroom the children do not just learn... they develop the skills of how to learn. Children entering the elementary Programme from the casa Programme have already acquired the basics in reading, writing, math, geometry, and culture. They are now ready to build upon these skills and apply them to researching their many interests. These core areas of study are complimented with studies in French, art, drama, music, physical education and a variety of carefully planned outings into the community. After school sports clubs and choir are available to meet the growing social needs of the older children. Class runs 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
